ebird set to launch a local partner, ebird Uganda between 15th - 20th December 2024

As they are working towards launching eBird Uganda Chapter, the eBird and Merlin Team; Cullen and Marshall are in Uganda carrying awareness on the use and application of these tools. Between 3-5th December, they trained a team of researchers at the Makerere Biological Field Station, Bundongo Forest in the use of eBird and Merlin apps. Budongo Forest is one of the premier bird watching hotspots in Uganda and an Important Bird Area attracting Congo-Guinea biome species. These tools can be used in generating good statistics and data as a form of science science. Birds are a well known and studied taxa globally and can thus be used as indicators of change in the environment making these tools an important element in generating good information. ''We are excited about this new chapter'' - Says Cullen.
